Chrystal (Anderson) Garcia (B.F.A., illustration and photography, 1985) lives in Copperas Cover, Texas, with her children, Hunter (June 1996) and Brice (May 1998).  She wrote, "As a military mom/wife I have had very few chances to work with my major, but over the years I have designed exhibits for the First Cavalry Museum, designed and implemented the construction of a playground, created logos and newsletters for the Officer's Civilians Spouses Association of Ft. Bliss, the Officer's Spouses Club of Ft. Stewart and the Volunteer Newsletter for the El Paso Zoo.  I have the most awesome Halloween house on the block with giant, life-like monsters, often making the newspaper front page and with my photography degree I take GREAT family pictures!  So even though I'm not making a living with either of my degrees, I am using my education to help my community and enhance my family life.  Not a bad trade."

After 2001, I relocated to suburban Atlanta, Georgia and later Athens, Georgia, and began a teaching career in area public schools, earning an M.Ed in social science education from University of Georgia (2006). From 2006 to 2009, in my hometown of Jacksonville, Florida, I was a certified public high school teacher.
