SCAD Museum of Art alumni open house

Alumni are invited to explore the SCAD Museum of Art, a significantly expanded and re-imagined contemporary art and design museum conceived and designed expressly to enrich the educational milieu for SCAD students, professors, and art and design enthusiasts. Exhibitions include:

The office for career and alumni success at SCAD invite alumni to join us the on the eve of Sidewalk Arts Festival for a champagne reception at the SCAD Museum of Art. At 7:30 p.m. this year's distinguished alumnus and alumna will be honored and receive their awards. Registration for the reception is required via the Facebook event or by sending an email.

Forsyth Park between Whitaker and Drayton streets
Grab your blanket and head over to Forsyth Park for a screening of "How to Train Your Dragon" under the stars.

Historic Preservation alumni open house
9-11 a.m.
Clarence Thomas Center for Historic Preservation, 439 E. Broad St., Savannah, Georgia
Historic preservation alumni, family and friends are invited to visit the Clarence Thomas Center for Historic Preservation and enjoy coffee and pastries before heading over to Forsyth Park for the Sidewalk Arts Festival activities. Reconnect with faculty and fellow alumni and take a tour of the home for the historic preservation department.

11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Forsyth Park, alumni area
Stop by the alumni tent to pick up a special gift, while supplies last. Arrive by 11 a.m. if you plan to participate in the chalk competition. Squares are assigned on the day of the event on a first-come, first served basis. Awards, which include cash prizes, are announced at 4 p.m.

Alumni and Atlanta Advisory Council Reception
5:30-7 p.m.
Fifth Floor, Building C, 1600 Peachtree St. NW, Atlanta, Georgia
Join members of the Atlanta Advisory Council for a networking cocktail reception and a preview of the artwork displayed at Open Studio Night. This event is open to all SCAD alumni and is free of charge. Dress for this event is smart business casual.

Open Studio Night
7-9 p.m.
Fifth Floor, Building C, 1600 Peachtree St. NW, Atlanta, Georgia
More than 200 original works of art by SCAD students, faculty and alumni will be on display. This amazing event showcases the best in SCAD painting, photography, illustration, printmaking and sculpture. The event features live entertainment, hands-on demonstrations and light refreshments. All work exhibited is available for sale. Open Studio Night is open to the public, with complimentary on-site parking provided.

Saturday, Nov. 5

SCAD Atlanta Building Tour
9:30-10:30 a.m.
Gallery 1600, Second Floor, Building C, 1600 Peachtree St. NW, Atlanta, Georgia
Customized tours for alumni and parents will be offered and led by current SCAD Atlanta students. Guided tours will also be available through the admission office Friday, Nov. 4 at 11 a.m. To sign up for Friday tours call 877.722.3285.

Academics and Athletics Conversation and Breakfast
10:30 a.m. to noon
Gallery 1600, Second Floor, Building C, 1600 Peachtree St. NW, Atlanta, Georgia
Come and enjoy a panel discussion about academics and athletics at SCAD. The panel will include former SCAD athletes, academic and athletic administrators, and a special guest moderator. SCAD Atlanta is now in its second year of intercollegiate athletic competition. Find out why SCAD's student-artist-athletes are so phenomenal.
