Linda Warner

Linda Warner Constantino has 25 years of professional experience as an illustrator, graphic designer, art director and painter. Her work has been published in books, magazines and newspapers, and has been translated into murals. She has studied illustration and design at the School of Visual Arts in New York City and later in Italy. She previously taught at the School of Visual Arts in Savannah as well as privately, and is a Certified Adobe Expert in Adobe Photoshop CS. Mohamed Danawi

Mohammed Danawi is represented in the advertising, design and editorial markets by Lisa Freeman Inc., and in the children's book market by Wendy Lynn and Co. Danawi was the chair of the illustration department from 1998-2002. He is a member of the Society of Children's Books Writers and Illustrators. In 2002, he was selected for inclusion in Who's Who Among America's Teachers.

Allan Drummond
Savannah
B.A., London College of Printing; M.A., Royal College of Art.
Allan Drummond is chair of SCAD’s illustration department. He worked as a journalist before studying graphic design at the London College of Printing, and illustration at the Royal College of Art. As an illustrator, his clients include the New Yorker, Time Magazine, the Times and the Daily Telegraph, as well as design groups in the United States, Europe and Japan. He also designed and produced the murals for Holborn Station, a London Underground interchange. Drummond’s writing for children first appeared with his illustrations for “The Willow Pattern Story,” an American Bookseller “Pick of the Lists” children’s book that is still in print after 16 years. He has since written, illustrated and published seven more titles. In 2006, Houghton Mifflin published “The Journey that Saved Curious George,” which includes nearly 40 of Drummond’s illustrations, to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the “Curious George” books. His next book, “Tin Lizzie,” is slated for publication in 2008 to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Model T Ford. Visit his Web site.

John Foerster

John Foerster is a practicing medical illustrator who has taught at the graduate and undergraduate level for more than 12 years. He specializes in teaching digital illustration techniques and has conducted Adobe Photoshop and Corel Painter workshops throughout the United States and Canada. He has received more than a dozen national awards for both his artwork and his contributions to the field of medicine. In addition to his editorial and advertising work, he has illustrated more than a dozen textbooks and is co-author of an award-winning medical book about cervical disorders.

Amie Jacobsen

Amie Jacobsen is a practicing freelance illustrator with 13 years of experience in fine art, illustration and design. She began her career as a wildlife, landscape and portrait artist while completing her undergraduate degree, and in 1996 was featured on the cover of Colorado Sportsman magazine. In 2002, Jacobsen took a new direction and began to pursue illustration, publishing her first children's book, "The Quest for Elloshidii," in 2004. Her third illustrated children's book, "Spenser Goes to Portland," was released Fall 2008. Her work has also been represented in magazines, posters, advertisements, apparel, products and packaging, and storyboards.

Richard Krepel

Richard Krepel's illustrations have appeared on the covers and inside pages of countless national magazines, including Newsweek, U.S. News & World Report, Time, Reader's Digest, Ladies Home Journal, Good Housekeeping, Redbook and the Harvard Business Review. His work has garnered awards and has appeared in many national forums including the Society of Illustrators, Spectrum, American Illustration, Communication Arts, Print, Step Inside Design, Applied Arts, RSVP and the Los Angeles Society of Illustrators. His work was chosen for the cover of the Society of Illustrators 43rd Annual in 2003, and he collaborated in the production of "Hallelujah, The Poetry of Hymns" published in 2005.

Julie Lieberman
Savannah

Julie Lieberman has been teaching illustration since 1986 at East Carolina University, Pratt Institute, School of Visual Arts and SCAD. Her work has appeared in Communication Arts and Print magazines, and on collateral for Savannah Dance Theater and Armstrong Atlantic State University among others. In addition to teaching she is a freelance illustrator, painter and sand sculptor. Her book project, "Survey of Illustration," was published in Korea in 2002. She has several book projects in progress.

Richard Lovell

After three years as a staff illustrator for studios in Atlanta and Houston, Rick Lovell started a freelance career in the Atlanta area, which he has maintained for more than 25 years. He has produced award-winning artwork for clients such as Anheuser Busch, AT&T, Avon Books, Business Week Magazine, CNN, Delta Airlines, Disney, Kellogg’s, Macy’s, Nike Design, Pentagram, Seimens and more. Lovell taught advanced illustration at the Portfolio Center in Atlanta and served as the illustration chair at the Atlanta College of Art prior to joining the illustration department at SCAD.

Jay Montgomery

Jay Montgomery has been a faculty member at SCAD since 2007, and brings his experience as a freelance illustrator and staff illustrator for design firm Suzanne Anderson and Associates to the classroom. He has been teaching illustration since 1998 at Portfolio Center, Atlanta College of Art and SCAD. He is a member of the Graphic Artists Guild, Illustrators Partnership of America, and the National Association of Photoshop Professionals. His clients include Chick-Fil-A, Cartoon Network, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Guinness Inc., ESPN, Coca-Cola, Georgia-Pacific and Oxford University Press. He has been published in numerous magazines and industry publications, including Computer Arts Magazine, Directory of Illustration 14 and 17, and Blackbook 2003-04.

Julie Mueller-Brown

Julie Mueller-Brown taught briefly at University of Missouri-Columbia and Art Institute of Atlanta before beginning her teaching career at SCAD in 1989.
She illustrated the children's books "Remember This" and "Perfectly Still" published by SCAD Design Press. Her illustrations, photographs and art have been in publications such as Newsweek, Photo Review, AIA Journal, Agnes Scott Alumnae Magazine, Georgia Medical Association Journal and the Children's Illustration Annual Picture Book. She has lectured at University of Dortmund, Germany, studied at the School of Mosaic in Italy, and traveled and worked extensively in Guatemala and Colombia.

Daniel
Powers

Daniel Powers has 25 years of experience as a freelance illustrator and art director. He has published more than 20 children’s books and creates editorial illustrations for a variety of magazines. His artwork has been exhibited at the Society of Illustrators conference and at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair. Powers has taught throughout the United States as well as in France, Germany and Mexico. He served as artist in residence at the Kalani-Honua Institute for Cultural Studies. His work is included in the collections of the Mazza Museum and the Kerlan Collect, and in the Meridian International Center’s traveling exhibitions.

Don Rogers

Don Rogers has more than 25 years of professional experience as a studio illustrator, graphic designer, freelance illustrator and professor, and has taught at SCAD since 1984. He has worked with a wide range of advertising, corporate and editorial clients including the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Wendy's, Ballantine Books, The Boston Globe, McDonald's, Coca-Cola Company, Moody Press, Sylvania and GTE. Durwin Talon

Durwin Talon has been an illustrator, graphic designer, art director and educator. His research, development and teaching interests include technology with emphasis in visual communication, storytelling with roots in comic art, and traditional and electronic techniques. He was awarded an SBC Fellowship and several research grants for his academic pursuits. Talon has given numerous lectures and presentations on illustration, sequential art, video games and new media. He has written books on sequential art ("Panel Discussions" and "Comics Above Ground"), and his electronic illustrations have been featured on the covers of publications, in gallery exhibitions and advertising. He has served as chair of the Interface Symposium and VisionFest: Student Animation Competition for the New Media Program at Indiana University School of Informatics. His creator-owned projects include "Bonds" (Image Comics, 2007-08) and "Beautiful Scars" (with Guin Thompson, Archaia Studio Press, 2008). "Bonds" was included in the Society of Illustrators 49th Annual and exhibition.
