SCAD student productions are screened and win awards at premier film festivals including Sundance, Cannes, the Los Angeles Film Festival and South by Southwest.
SCAD students work and learn alongside actors, sound designers and production designers in an environment that emulates the professional studio setting.
SCAD was the only university in the 2010 Student Academy Awards with nominations in three categories. SCAD student Lubomir Kocka was honored with a bronze medal in narrative.

Joel Fendelman's film receives accolades

"David," a film by Joel Fendelman (B.F.A. video/film, 2004), has won several awards including the Ecumenical Prize at the Montreal World Film Festival, the Audience Award at the Brooklyn Film Festival, Best Feature at the San Luis Obispo Film Festival and the Special Jury Award at the Napa Valley Film Festival. "David" was also named an official selection at the Rome International Film Festival, the Palm Springs International Film Festival and the Miami International Film Festival.
Film festival screens Martucci's "Eulogy"

"Eulogy" by Jennifer Martucci (B.F.A., dramatic writing and film and television, 2012) recently screened at the Sacramento Film Festival. Martucci raised funds for the three-minute film via Indiegogo, and it was shot in a single day.
Maunch works at Banyan Communications

Victoria "Tori" Mauch (B.F.A., video/film, 2006) is lead editor at Banyan Communications in St. Charles, Missouri. Mauch edited three 2011 Communicator Award of Excellence winners: "d-up!" (government relations, DVD training), "On the Road - Tonopah" (corporate image, Web series) and "Their World" (nonprofit PSA). Mauch also edited 2010 Silver Telly Award winner "One of These Things." "Made in China," edited by Mauch, won the 2009 South by Southwest Grand Jury Prize, the 2009 Chicago Film Festival Silver Hugo Award, the 2009 Oldenburg Film Festival Audience Award and the 2009 Newport Beach Film Festival Outstanding Achievement in Filmmaking Award. "Made in China" has been shown on IFC and Sundance Channel and is available on Netflix.
