Christopher Auer
Savannah
B.A., State University of New York at Albany; M.A., Regent University.
A veteran of the entertainment industry, Chris Auer has written for "The Cosby Show" and "As the World Turns." He also was the creator and executive producer of the Family Channel's "Big Brother Jake," for which he oversaw all creative decisions during the show's 100-episode run. Auer is the author of eight children's books, and in one of his classes at SCAD, his book "Molly and the Good Shepherd" was made into a movie, providing the opportunity for collaboration between students and professionals.

Shawn Bulloch

B.S., Savannah State University; M.F.A., Savannah College of Art and Design; Ed.D., Fielding Graduate University.
Shawn Bulloch, Ed.D., has a combination of music industry film industry productions within his professional body of work. All five albums that he produced made appearances on the Billboard charts including Pure Pain/Universal Records 2001 release "Strictly for the Streets." Bulloch also was responsible for music video production and served as the A&R for the project, which ultimately sold more than 300,000 units BDS/Soundscan. His latest major production, "Gangsta Gangsta," is a feature film highlighting the self-destructive nature of the Black male in the "hood." Bulloch directs music videos for the industry and also shoots musical documentaries.

Michael Chaney

Michael Jackson Chaney's film and time-based media work addresses the interplay of spirituality and social constructs using multiple-channel video, film, sound and performance. His short films have been included in numerous international film festivals. Chaney's industry work includes projects for such clients as Hearst Publications, the New York Times Co. and the United States Peace Corps.

Kenneth Daniel
Savannah
B.A., University of South Florida; M.A., Central Michigan University.
Ken Daniel began his career with the Atlanta Children's Theatre in 1969. In 1970, he founded a traveling puppet company called "The Piccadilly Puppets." Daniel's television production career spans 31 years; his titles have included cameraman, production crew chief, associate director, associate producer, director and producer. He served as executive producer for local production at Georgia Public Television, and created and produced the popular series "Georgia Outdoors." Daniel has acted in various commercials and feature films, has written several Hmagazine articles focusing on the environment, and is working on his second novel. He has received six Emmy awards for his work as a television producer and director. Daniel was production manager for Cable Advertising of Metro Atlanta before coming to SCAD.

John Drop
Savannah

John (Jack) Drop spent 10 years in Hollywood doing commercial, documentary and second-unit camera work. Also specializing in location work, Drop has worked on a two-man submarine, in a swamp buggy in Louisiana, and in the deserts and buttes of Monument Valley. He has been dropped off by helicopter in the Grand Tetons' then snow shoed to shooting site, over most of the Alaskan wilderness including past the Artic Circle. Drop also has collaborated with a performance artist and had gallery showings in L.A., Tokyo, Paris, Marseilles, Atlanta and Savannah.

Annette Haywood-Carter
Savannah
B.A.J., University of Georgia.
A veteran of the entertainment industry, Annette Haywood-Carter directed the movies "Foxfire," starring Angelina Jolie, and "The Foot Shooting Party," starring Leonardo DiCaprio. As a writer and director in television, her credits include "seaQuest DSV" for Steven Spielberg, "Love is Strange" for Lifetime and "Blue Valley Songbird" for executive producer Dolly Parton. Haywood-Carter worked as a script supervisor on more than 28 feature films, including "Die Hard II," "Cliffhanger" and "Driving Miss Daisy."

Michael Hofstein
Savannah
B.A., University of Texas at Austin.
A 25-year veteran of the film and television industry in Los Angeles, Michael Hofstein is a Directors Guild of America director and a noted director of photography. He has worked internationally directing and photographing movies and commercials in Spain, Italy, France, Israel, Mexico, China and Germany. At Paramount Studios, Hofstein was the first to develop a large-format, rear-lit green screen for use with large area visual effects photography. He presents seminars on filmmaking and cinematography worldwide, consults with other educational institutions on the development of courses of study for filmmaking, and chairs the Arkansas Student Film Competition for high school students. His areas of expertise include cinematography, directing, filmmaking and modern French cinema. Hofstein is co-author of a chapter in the "American Cinematographers Manual" author of the textbook "Creative Control: Filmmaking and Cinematography," and movie reviewer and contributing editor with Indie Slate Magazine.

Lubomir Kocka
Savannah
M.A., University of Music and Dramatic Arts.
Lubomir Kocka is an award-winning director with more than 20 years of experience. He has directed 22 feature films and television dramas, seven feature TV series and miniseries, and six documentaries in his home country, Slovakia. He has written or co-written several realized screenplays. In addition, he has taught film for 19 years, including a stint as the head of the film and television directing program at the College of Music and Dramatic Arts in Czechoslovakia. He has taught at SCAD since 2002.

Amy Lerner-Maddox

Amy Lerner-Maddox worked as an actress, writer and director at legendary New York theaters LaMama ETC, WPA, Public Theater, Interart Theater, Women's Experimental Theater Ensemble, comedy improvisational group, Proposition and Old Reliable Theater Tavern. Her stage work has been well received by critics at the New York Times, Newsday, Womensweek and the Village Voice. Her films have appeared at the Museum of Modern Art, Directors Guild of America, on A&E, BBC 1 and 2, the Ann Arbor, USA, London BP and Women in the Director's Chair Film Festivals. Television and radio commercial production credits include Lever 2000, Reynolds Wrap, Circuit City, Ronzoni, Michelina's and Lubriderm Lotion, for which "Quick Reminder" was named one of the Best Spots of the 1990s by ADWEEK magazine; and rock videos for BMG Video. Lerner-Maddox is the author of a comedy book titled "Why I Hate Men." Distinguished film director Martin Scorsese selected her to work under his mentorship program for her screenplay "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow." The screenplay was adapted to a television Web series titled "Pineapple Upside-Down Cake."

Megan Lombardo
Savannah

Megan Lombardo's career in film production began in 1997, and by 2000, she was assistant director on Frank Whaley's "The Jimmy Show" which was purchased at the 2002 Sundance Film Festival. Other assistant director credits include "Roger Dodger," distributed by Artisan Entertainment, and the 2007 Sundance hit "Phoebe In Wonderland," released by THINKfilm in 2008. Lombardo has worked as associate producer, location manager and production manager on E! Style Network's Season One of "The Katie Brown Show," Lifetime Television's World Premiere film "Sex, Love and Lies," and Walmart Entertainment's "The 12 Dogs of Christmas." She line produced the film "Out There," which was purchased for distribution by IFC Films. After receiving her M.F.A. from SCAD, she continued on at her Alma mater to teach.

Stephen May
Savannah

Stephen May began his professional career as a freelance photographer in 1983 after he received a B.A. in visual art from the University of Alabama. He transitioned to writing and producing industrial and corporate video, and in 1987 he moved to Savannah, Ga., to obtain an M.F.A. in film and television from SCAD. He joined the staff of the college managing the in-house media production company where he worked with external clients such as MTV and NBC. May produced and directed educational and marketing films that showcased the professional accomplishments of SCAD's international alumni with shooting locations in London, Paris and Florence. During this period he supervised SCAD film and television majors as they interned with the production company. May began his full-time teaching duties in 1997 and since that time has taught many of the courses offered in both the undergraduate and graduate curriculum.

Kevin McCarey
Savannah
B.S., Maritime College; M.A., University of Oregon.
Kevin McCarey is an award-winning filmmaker for such acclaimed documentary series as "Portrait of America" (Peabody-Award) and the National Geographic Specials for which he received four Emmy nominations (two as a writer) and one Emmy Award. His special, "Trumpet of Conscience," aired every Christmas on the Turner Networks for 12 years. McCarey's narrative work includes "San Juan Story," a semi-finalist for Best Live Action Short Academy Award, and the feature film "Coyotes" which won Best Feature Film in the 1999 Savannah Film Festival. He also has worked as a boat captain and oceanographer on expeditions to the Caribbean and the South Pacific.

Andrew Meyer

Andrew Meyer has produced many feature films, most notably "Fried Green Tomatoes" and "The Breakfast Club." His other films include "Better Off Dead" and "Bring on the Night." Meyer has been active in the entertainment business for the last 25 years with experience in both the film and the record business.

Michael Nolin
Savannah
B.A., State University of New York at Albany; M.A., University of Southern California.
After attending the University of Southern California's School of Cinema/Television, Michael Nolin began his career as a clerk typist in the MGM story department. Seven years later, his résumé included stints as vice president for Columbia Pictures and 20th Century Fox, where he founded a classics-type distribution division that served as an early model for Fox Searchlight Pictures. By the mid-1980s he had established the first of several independent production companies, producing more than a dozen features and television shows before evolving from producer to writer/director. Nolin's films have appeared in major film festivals around the world, including, New York, Tokyo, Deauville (France), Toronto and Honolulu. After a few adjunct teaching positions in California, including one at his alma mater, Nolin turned his attention to education full time, first with an appointment as a visiting professor at Brooklyn College. In 2003, he joined the faculty at SCAD.

Gokhan Ozaysin

Gokhan Ozaysin, Ph.D., serves as the director of graduate studies for the film and television department. He utilizes his strong academic background to facilitate a collaborative, interactive and innovative learning experience for graduate film and television students. For his doctoral dissertation, he compared the traditional story structure of oral tales to the narrative structure of contemporary movies and instituted storytelling methodology as the focal point of his academic concentration. Ozaysin also specializes in non-linear editing and teaches editing theories and techniques using professional editing platforms, such as Avid Media Composer, Symphony Nitris, DS Nitris and Unity MediaNetwork.

Burton J. Sears

B.J. Sears joined the faculty of the film and television department at SCAD in January 2005. His career as a film editor has spanned 30 years and has included work on feature films for major studios, documentaries and films for television. Among them are "Virtuosity" (Paramount), "Jacob's Ladder" (Carolco), "The Unbearable Lightness of Being" (Orion), "Henry and June" (Universal) and "Amadeus" (Orion).
