SCAD fibers students learn and create in the most expansive and best-equipped fibers facility in U.S. higher education.
The SCAD fibers program enables students to explore and pursue diverse careers, from fine art and entrepreneurial paths to commercial textile design.
With the most full-time professors and students, the SCAD fibers program fosters a community of artists and designers who continually push the boundaries of the fibers profession.
SCAD was one of the first to invest in an electronic Jacquard hand loom and digital textile printer, offering students more opportunities to engage with sophisticated technology.

Martha Stewart Living hires Andrea Yu

Andrea Yu (B.F.A., fibers, 2011) accepted a position in the product design department at Martha Stewart Living in New York City.
Professors co-author design history article

Anthropology Professor Susan Falls and fibers Professor Jessica Smith co-authored an article that appeared in The Journal of Design History titled "Branding Authenticity: Cambodian Ikat in Transnational Artisan Partnerships."
