Alexander Hall

Built in the 1940s as the Centennial Mill Flour Company, Alexander Hall houses the painting department. Open 24 hours per day, it features classrooms, a critique area, graduate painting studios, formal and informal exhibition spaces, an acid room, a grounds room, a dark room, a ceramic room and woodshop. It is home to the Alexander Hall Gallery, which rotates exhibitions, and also features open studio events, which allow students to show and sell their work.

Alexander Hall and the Alexander Hall Gallery offers students the space to create and exhibit their work.

Students and faculty display and sell their work during Open Studio Night, one of the most anticipated nights of the year.

Visitors view the "Bridge" exhibition in Alexander Hall that showcased the work of Chinese Painting class students.

Through traditional painting classes, students gain tools and techniques necessary to develop their own skills.

Alexander Hall housed "Abandoned," an exhibition by Cindy Tower, Winter 2010 Distinguished Visiting Faculty in painting.

Painting students acquire technical skills, an understanding of diverse approaches and the concept of personal vision.

At Open Studio Night at Alexander Hall, students and faculty open their studios to showcase their work.

Students collaborated with Spring 2010 Visiting Artist JuYeon Kim, sharing creative ideas and technical skills.
