ACA Sculpture Studio of SCAD

Designed by the world-renowned architect Renzo Piano, the ACA Sculpture Studio of SCAD is one of the finest sculpture facilities in the Southeast. Located next to the High Museum of Art in Midtown Atlanta, this leading edge facility contains a comprehensive wood and metal shop, a foundry for bronze and stainless steel, studio workspace, support equipment and an exhibition gallery. It is located on the bottom floor of the ACA Residence Hall building.
The Sculpture Studio, located in the ACA building on the first floor, provides the perfect environment for sculpture studies.
The Sculpture Studio contains a wood and metal shop, a foundry for bronze and stainless steel, studios and exhibition space.
Emphasis is placed on media expertise and studio proficiencies, as well as understanding of conceptual issues.
Students learn how to properly handle the materials and equipment.
Iron and bronze pouring are just some of the many techniques sculpture students may learn through their coursework.
Coursework addresses digital applications, contemporary conceptual applications and professional practices in sculpture.
