Poetter is home to the graphic design program, which stresses a strong foundation in design history, theory and traditional hand skills before progressing toward current graphic communication concepts, practices and technology. In order to develop these skills, the building is equipped with seven computer labs, display cases, LCD screens to exhibit professional and student work and much more. Graphic design students go on to have successful careers as Web designers, art directors, environmental designers and branding specialist designers.
Poetter Hall is also home to the SCAD welcome center, the department of admission, shopSCAD and the May Poetter Gallery.
Poetter Hall, located at 342 Bull St., is home to SCAD's graphic design program as well as the May Poetter Gallery.
The work of students and professors is displayed throughout the building for all guests and students to see.
The May Poetter Gallery is located in Poetter Hall, the flagship SCAD building, which was built in 1892 as an armory.
