LOCATIONS AND FACILITIES
Anderson Hall
Majors offered
Foundation Studies
Designed by Gottfried L. Norrman and built in 1896, the building originally served as the Anderson Street Elementary School. Today the facility houses the foundation studies program, a curriculum of introductory drawing and design courses required of students in all majors. Designed as a blend of the Classical and Colonial Revival styles, the ornate red brick building sits atop a stone and granite foundation. Arched windows, ornamental stone details and a standing seam metal roof crowned by a classical cupola highlight the exterior.

Home to the foundation studies program, Anderson Hall provides students with the studio atmosphere needed to succeed.

The corridors of Anderson Hall are lined with artwork displaying the talents of SCAD's newest students.

The foundation studies classes in Anderson Hall teach students the principles of drawing, color theory and design.

SCAD students experiment with different media during their foundation studies classes held in Anderson Hall.

Students develop an attention to detail by learning form, light, scale, color and composition in their foundation studies.
