About the festival

The Savannah College of Art and Design presents the 30th annual Sidewalk Arts Festival Saturday, April 30, 2011. This popular event features a chalk drawing competition on the sidewalks of Savannah's centerpiece, beautiful Forsyth Park. Drawing competition entries will be judged and awarded prizes. The event also includes food, children's and youth areas for young artists, as well as music throughout the day.

Admission is free and open to the public.

The chalk competition features categories for students, alumni and prospective students. Throughout the weekend, special events are offered for alumni, prospective students and families of current SCAD students.

Cyberwalk Arts Contest

The Cyberwalk Arts Contest is for those of you who can't attend the Sidewalk Arts Festival or simply have allergies to chalk. Whatever the case may be, all current SCAD students and alumni are invited to play around online with a virtual concrete canvas.

The online contest will accept entries from Friday, April 1, until Thursday, April 28, at 5:30 p.m. Winners will be announced at the Sidewalk Arts Festival on Saturday, April 30, along with the winners of the festival in Forsyth Park.

SCAD eLearning will judge and choose the top three current student winners. Alumni relations will judge and choose the top three alumni winners. Happy chalking!
