Wirth grew up on a farm in rural Iowa. He began studying art at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa and then continued to receive his M.F.A. in Painting from SCAD in 2009.  His studio and workshop are currently located in the flat lands of northern Iowa where he lives with his wife and children.
