T.S. Kist has worked with a variety of influences to help inspire visual content.  Social, medical and popular references have provided narrative and symbolic imagery in much of her work.  Born in Washington, D.C., her mother (also a painter) taught Kist to be an artist at a very young age.  Kist holds an M.F.A. from SCAD, and currently teaches youth art classes from her home studio in Savannah, while continuing to pursue her painting career.  In 2012, Kist will attend a residency program at The Vermont Studio Center as a grant recipient.
