Henry Pernell Johnson was born and raised in Cordele, Georgia. He is a professor of foundation studies at SCAD, where he also obtained his M.A. degree. Although Johnson focuses on graphic design and illustration, he does not limit himself with subject matter. He delves into the emotional bonds between an illustrator and his subjects while leaving the image open to interpretation by those who view it.  Johnson has exhibited his work in galleries throughout the Southeast.  He currently lives with his wife and daughter in Savannah.
