Welcome to Inspire 2012

Part animation, part graphic design and part filmmaking, motion media design borrows freely from other disciplines to compose music of images.

What does it mean to break motion media work apart, examine the pieces and see how they might be assembled differently? These questions are more relevant than ever as the motion media craft expands into new applications and across new screen spaces.

Inspire embodies the resolve of SCAD students, professors and staff members to examine and evaluate their work. By bringing leading creative practitioners and thinkers to the university to share their ideas, the SCAD community is able to examine the complexities of crafts born in the fine arts that have commercial applications. Inspire prompts media professionals to ask, "How do we negotiate the worlds of art and commerce effectively? What are the experiences of our fellow travelers?"

This year, Inspire welcomes visual effects specialists to Savannah as well. A panel composed of visual effects industry leaders will share unique perspectives with the SCAD community.
