Professor and Visual Music Marathon founder
Dennis Miller is a professor of music at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. He is also the founder and artistic director of the Visual Music Marathon, a program devoted to exposing the public to audiovisual compositions through screenings, commissions and scholarly research.
Miller's mixed media works, which combine his original music and animation, have been presented at venues throughout the world. His most recent international presentations include Soundtrack_Cologne 8.0 in Cologne, Germany; Visiones Sonoras in Morelia, Mexico; Understanding Visual Music 2011 in Montreal, Canada; and PAUSA II in Melbourne, Australia. The works illustrate how processes drawn from musical composition are moved to the visual realm.
