The SCAD exhibitions department presents “Lumbee: Postmodern Natives,” a SCAD M.F.A. painting thesis exhibition by Jessica Clark. Clark uses photos she takes of her family and community, a Native American community in North Carolina known as the Lumbee people. Clark uses her intimate photographs to create large scale figurative paintings and lithographs that celebrate and preserve the people, places and events specific to the proud history of the Lumbee people.
