The SCAD exhibitions department presents "A Linear Perspective," a SCAD M.F.A. painting thesis exhibition by Charmaine Ortiz. Ortiz produces graphite paintings that abstract traditional subjects including the landscape and still life. She deconstructs and reassembles the linear descriptions of these subjects to expose their structural essence and to simulate their moveable space. Visually commenting on the painterly aspects of a drawing practice, her thesis exhibition, "A Linear Perspective," explores materiality, linear systems and dimensionality.
