Oct. 08 – Nov. 16, 2012
Gallery See | SCAD Atlanta, 1600 Peachtree St. NE, Atlanta, Ga.
SCAD Atlanta in partnership with France-Atlanta presents a solo exhibition of photographs by French photographer Pierre Gonnord. In recognition of the 50th anniversary of the death of Nobel Prize-winning author William Faulkner, the artist conducted a three-month residency in Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi. Through the faces and landscapes encountered, "Portraying the South" captures a glimpse into the soul of the Deep South, offering a timeless, unclassifiable, explosive and riveting portrayal of the American Southeast.
The "Portraying the South" exhibition and lecture are organized as part of Atlanta Celebrates Photography 2012 and France-Atlanta.
