Dario Escobar Exhibition: "Singular-Plural"

Feb. 21 – Apr. 13, 2012

Gallery 1600 | SCAD Atlanta, 1600 Peachtree St., Atlanta, Ga.

SCAD exhibitions department presents Dario Escobar's "Singular-Plural," a selection of re-worked industrial objects and works on paper highlighting form, function and concept. Escobar pulls everyday objects - a skateboard, a book page, a baseball bat - from the world of the mass produced into the realm of fine art through his use of appropriation, accumulation and repetition. The result is a work of art comprised of multiple objects that were once singular and utilitarian and are now presented as one work that is imbued with entirely different aesthetic and conceptual qualities.

Presented as part of the 2012 deFINE ART program

Artist talk: 7-8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 21
