The SCAD exhibitions department presents "Far Summers: Journey In the Greater World," a thesis exhibition by M.F.A. illustration student Sean Twiddy. The work in this exhibition invites you to explore the planet of Siachen through "Far Summers: Journey In the Greater World," the fictional journal of an alien traveler created as he wandered through his home world. The illustrations are pages from his journal, with his pencil sketches, watercolors and notes of the people, places and things he sees, accompanied by excerpts from his writing. Witness the variety of cultures and societies of Siachen, a refutation of the monoculture so common in science fiction settings, and in turn gain greater appreciation of the multicultural experience of our world.
