Jacqueline Susann and the Style of the 1960s: The 45th Anniversary of "Valley of the Dolls"

To celebrate the author Jacqueline Susann and the 45th anniversary of her influential book "Valley of the Dolls," SCAD presents a multidimensional exhibition that showcases the essence of Susann's style and her continuing influence on the world of fashion. The exhibit will feature pieces from Susann's personal archives, period garments, and current fashions and design inspired by the author, the book and the movie that defined the culture of the 1960s and that continue to inspire today's most influential designers.

Fashion curated by Cameron Silver, fashion historian and owner of Decades vintage boutique in Los Angeles.

Exhibit curated by Whitney Robinson and Lisa Bishop, executive directors of the Jacqueline Susann Archive.

Reception: April 29, 6-7:30 p.m.

Gallery hours:
  • Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Sunday, 1-4 p.m.
