The SCAD exhibitions department presents "From Imitation to Life," a thesis exhibition by M.F.A. photography student Deidra Tyree Smith. "From Imitation to Life" examines the exploitation of the human body and sexuality within contemporary media. By using her own body as subject through photography, video, sculpture and performance, Smith reveals the psychological struggle between internal and external, and parodies the discourse of a controlled subculture within the media.
