The SCAD exhibitions department presents "Picture Perfect," a thesis exhibition by M.F.A. painting student Cynzia Sanchez. Focusing on the societal standards of beauty, Sanchez presents a collection of life-size portraits that make us confront the established paradigms.
The body of work in "Picture Perfect" pairs the real and the ideal. How we look and how we want to look. Using the "little black dress" series from the Barbie Basics® Collection, Sanchez presents the ideal of how we think we should look, giving the viewer the opportunity to experience the reality of the unreal.
