"Icarus" at Red Gallery

7/29/2006 SAVANNAH, GA. — The Savannah College of Art and Design presents “Icarus,” a multimedia group exhibition featuring work by SCAD students, faculty and alumni July 29–Aug. 27 at Red Gallery, 201 E. Broughton St. A reception will be held Aug. 4, 5–7 p.m., at the gallery. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.“Icarus” focuses on bird imagery in artwork, a recurring theme throughout history that symbolically and metaphorically explores flight, ascent and descent. The mythological story of Icarus is an example of the human fascination with flight and the psychology of success and failure.
