Haitian artist Edouard Duval-Carrie to exhibit work at SCAD April 6-June 3

4/6/2007 ![]() Premier Haitian artist Edouard Duval-Carrié will display his installation work "Continental Shifts" April 6–June 3, at Red Gallery, 201 E. Broughton St., Savannah, Ga. "Continental Shifts" shows the evolution of Edouard Duval-Carrié’s work over the last 20 years. The artist's work is largely concerned with Haiti, where the artist was born, and the manifold migrations of Caribbean people. Within this scope, the artist maps his personal journeys. Duval-Carrié studied in Paris at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts and has shown work throughout the world. His work has been exhibited in locations such as Haiti, France, the United States, Dominican Republic, Columbia, Spain, Cuba, Brazil, Germany and Senegal. His paintings combine African fables, classical mythology, Haitian and world history with contemporary events. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
