The Savannah College of Art and Design presents the second annual Art Materials Trade Show/Workshops and A Visit from the National Gallery of Art.

Held in historic downtown Savannah, the trade show and workshops feature more than 40 art materials industry professionals and visiting artists who will demonstrate the latest and best art and design materials - all of which will be for sale to the public at significant discounts.

The River Club exhibition hall and lectures are free and open to the public.

The Art Materials Trade Show/Workshops and A Visit from the National Gallery of Art are coordinated by the SCAD School of Foundation Studies, and Binder's Art Supply of Atlanta is serving as the retail partner.

Trade show hours: Friday and Saturday, Oct. 3 and 4, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sunday, Oct. 5, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Location: River Club, 3 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.


Workshops

For an additional fee, attendees can sign up for workshops available for all ages and abilities. All workshops are open to the public and will be held at various SCAD facilities Oct. 3-4. Talented SCAD professors and artists will provide instruction.


Lectures

Representatives from the National Gallery of Art and industry professionals will offer lectures on art conservation, painting and history. Lectures will be held at Trustees Theater, 216 E. Broughton St. Lectures are free and open to the public.


Student Roundtable Discussions

Independent artists and professionals from the art materials industry will talk candidly with students about the "real world," and entrepreneurs will discuss how to turn ideas into successful businesses. Roundtables will be held at the Student Center, 120 Montgomery St.


Seminar Series

Art materials experts will conduct demonstrations and discuss historical and contemporary paint and techniques. Topics include safety and testing, research and development, what's new in the acrylic movement, historical and modern oil painting mediums, the archival nature of art materials and painting practices of contemporary artists. Seminars are free and open to the public.
