World-renowned artists, designers and industry professionals will descend upon the Savannah College of Art and Design for SCAD Style, the college’s annual style and design series, April 10-May 17. The month-long series of events will highlight several of the college’s programs of study, including fashion, interior design and architecture.
SCAD Style will commence April 10 in New York City with the SCAD Style Étoile Awards, a fabulous fête honoring innovative, trendsetting leaders in the fields of style and design. This year, SCAD will honor interior designer and potter Jonathan Adler, Elle Décor Editor in Chief Margaret Russell and fashion designer Pierre Cardin, who also is being recognized for his historic restoration and cultural contributions to Lacoste, France, where SCAD has a campus. Previous Étoile Award recipients include Linda Fargo, Pamela Fiori, Santiago Barberi Gonzalez, Dakota Jackson, Jeffrey Kalinsky, Judy and Michael Mauldin, Lisa Newsom, David Yurman and west elm.
In recognition of their monumental contributions to the fields of style and design, honorees will be presented with an Étoile Award. Étoile, which means "a star in the sky" in French, connotes brilliance, glamour, iconic style and ideation.
Events surrounding SCAD Style include workshops and lectures by guest artists and trunk shows.
The annual SCAD fashion show will be held May 17 in Savannah.
