Call for Proposals
Requirements
Proposals for paper sessions, workshops, and roundtable topics should clearly identify:
  • Presentation format (i.e., paper session, workshop, roundtable)
  • The goals of the presentation
  • The relevance of the presentation to one of the conference tracks

Proposal Review Process
Proposals will be reviewed by the track chair and will be accepted based on the following criteria:
  • Relevance: Submissions should provide information that advances the attendees' understanding and practice of assessment in art and design.
  • Clarity: Submissions must be clear to audiences with diverse backgrounds and experience levels in assessment.
  • Expertise: Submissions should demonstrate the experience and academic knowledge the presenter possesses of the material covered.
Notification of Acceptance
Authors of accepted proposals will be notified by Oct. 1. A follow-up submission of presentation materials will be required of all participants. Materials are due Jan. 26, 2009, and will be distributed to conference attendees for reference upon arrival at the conference. Paper sessions will also require the follow-up submission of a formal paper. Formal papers must be submitted in Microsoft Word format, use current MLA style and be less than 15 pages in length (title page, abstract and reference list included).

Poster Session Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to submit proposals for the MUSE poster session. This session will focus on Track 1 (Defining, Assessing and Developing Creativity) and participants should submit a creative piece (digital video or sound recording, performance piece, graphic, painting, mixed media, photograph, etc.) that reflects how they define, measure and/or develop creativity. Faculty participants are encouraged to bring their students' work if the students themselves are unable to attend MUSE. Each faculty, staff or student hoping to show his or her creative piece should fill out the online proposal submission form. Include a brief description of the motivation behind the piece, the medium used, technology needs (if any) and anticipated space needs.

Notification of Acceptance of Poster Session Proposals
Artists of accepted poster session proposals will be notified by Nov. 1.
