Mixing Media: Designing with Symbolism and Calligraphy two-day workshop

In this two day workshop taught by Brandon Sadler, participants explore the creative process and aesthetic design of Japanese Ukiyo-e, calligraphy, and street art influences to develop a unique artistic style. The first day of the workshop, participants develop their storytelling ideas and concept while learning basic techniques in ink drawing, watercolor, and calligraphy. On day two, participants create their concept by mixing media such as ink, watercolor, marker, and colored pencil on paper. Concepts learned in this two-day workshop can be applied to all forms of art such as illustration, graphic design, painting, printmaking, and drawing. The workshop is held on Saturday, April 27 and concludes on Sunday, April 28. Workshop costs $85.
