They'll also venture into Pisgah National Forest and the Cradle of Forestry, which is a historic site that commemorates the beginning of forest conservation in the U.S. After lunch, the group will explore the town of Brevard.
At 9 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, the group leaves Asheville bound for Savannah, returning by mid afternoon.
The trip will include hiking and outdoor activity and is limited to the first 18 students who sign up. Cost is $75 per person and includes transportation, two night's lodging and a picnic lunch.
