In this four week course taught by Jillian Paul, participants learn about the many pathways of interior design including residential, hospitality and commercial design. By understanding their differences and similarities, students explore the basic process of how interior designers form successful design solutions and meet the needs of specific client programmatic requirements. Participants gain a better understanding of the fundamental principles and elements of design, as well as sketching styles. Loose sketching, concepting designs and presentation skills are incorporated in the course exercises. A basic understanding of interior design and graphic representation (drafting) is helpful. No computer skills are necessary for this class; it will be all hands-on. A supply list is provided prior to the start of class. Course costs $140.
