"High Style" Curated by André Leon Talley

High Style, the inaugural exhibition in the museum's André Leon Talley Gallery, named for the Vogue contributing editor and SCAD Board of Trustees member, is guest-curated by Talley himself.

It features iconic pieces by some of today’s most important designers including Karl Lagerfeld, Oscar de la Renta, Diane von Furstenberg, Tom Ford, Manolo Blahnik, Miuccia Prada, Ruben and Isabel Toledo, Zac Posen, Marc Jacobs and Vera Wang—all past recipients of SCAD’s André Leon Talley Lifetime Achievement Award.

Among the pieces featured in High Style are an Oscar de la Renta Fall 2011 gown worn by Penelope Cruz, and a Zac Posen gown worn by Christina Ricci, both at the 2011 Costume Institute Gala for Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty at The Metropolitan Museum of Art; a Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel ball gown worn by Patricia Altschul at the 1984 Costume Institute Gala; and a hand-painted evening dress from Tom Ford’s Spring/Summer 2011 collection.
