"Potlatch," is a "gift" of readings from authors to the audience. Crossing genres, from fiction, creative non-fiction to poetry, these readers share their work with SCAD students and the Atlanta community.

Authors include:

  • Bruce Covey: Author of several collections of poetry, including Glass Is Really a Liquid (2010), Elapsing Speedway Organism (2006), and The Greek Gods as Telephone Wires (1992). Covey is the editor of the online poetry journal Coconut and its sister press, Coconut Books. Covey has taught at Emory University, where he serves as senior director of technical services for campus life. He lives in Atlanta.
  • Amy McDaniel: A native Atlantan, McDaniel helps run the Solar Anus reading series. She contributes to HTMLGiant, and her work has been or is scheduled for The Agriculture Reader, Matchbook, Alimentum, and Saveur. She co-edited "From the Second Line," a collection of her students' essays about Hurricane Katrina. Her chapbook, "Selected Adult Lessons," was published by Agnes Fox Press in 2010. She's at work on a novel.
