Savannah international student orientation (Fall 2014)

Tentative schedule. Final schedule is distributed at check-in.

Tuesday, Sept. 9

Shuttle service from the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (airport code SAV) to the residence halls and Habersham Hall is offered throughout the day.

Shuttle service from the residence halls to the Savannah Civic Center is available based on the below schedule:

New international student check-in
Savannah Civic Center, 301 W. Oglethorpe Ave.
Second floor
8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
International students may register to take the SCAD Language Studio Accuplacer test, move into the residence halls, pick up their SCAD ID, and complete SEVIS check-in procedures with international student services office staff.

9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Representatives from area banks are available to answer questions and open accounts.

SCAD Museum of Art tour
601 Turner Blvd.
10 a.m.
Depart Oglethorpe House for a tour of the SCAD Museum of Art with your international orientation assistants.

ISSO-sponsored shopping trip to Target
10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Buses depart Oglethorpe House.

Lunch
J.O.'s and The Hive
Noon to 2 p.m.
Lunch provided at J.O.’s at Oglethorpe House and The Hive to all new international students. Family members can join for an additional charge. Debit/credit cards and cash accepted.

All incoming freshman, transfer and graduate international students in F-1 or J-1 student status must attend this session. It will help you understand important immigration regulations and procedures that impact F-1 and J-1 status, confirm your arrival for required government reporting purposes, and assist your adjustment to life at SCAD Savannah.

This session is mandatory for students who took the Accuplacer placement test.

Meet with student financial services and academic success advisers and pay all final university fees for fall quarter.

Join ISSO staff, faculty and students for an evening of great food and acoustic music.

This concludes the ISSO portion of orientation. You are required to now attend the all-school orientation based on the schedule according to your admission status as a freshman, transfer or graduate student. At all school orientation, you will have the opportunity to join other new students as you begin your journey toward a creative career at SCAD.

Shopping trip to Target
10:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Target will be open exclusively for SCAD students. Buses depart from Turner House and will make continuous loops.

Graduate and transfer students must check in and join the all-school orientation program.

Sunday, Sept. 14
