Security staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, year-round. SCAD security officers, along with the Atlanta Police Department, provide 24-hour patrol around SCAD Atlanta facilities and work closely with residence life staff to educate students about personal safety. Hand-activated emergency call boxes are strategically located throughout SCAD to automatically signal a 24-hour security dispatcher. A staff greeter or security officer is posted in each building. Students, faculty and staff are required to present a SCAD ID in order to gain admittance to SCAD Atlanta facilities.
Security staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, year-round. Hong Kong is considered to be a safe city with frequent police patrols to ensure the safety of residents and visitors. Students are encouraged to follow the same safety precautions (locking doors, traveling in groups at night, being cautious of your surroundings, etc.) as they would in any major city around the world. Students should keep valuables and travel documents in a safe place and should maintain photocopies of all IDs and travel documents in a location separate from the originals in case of emergency. In compliance with Hong Kong law, students staying more than 180 days are required to carry a personal identification card at all times. It is recommended that students traveling to an unfamiliar area carry a Chinese translation of the destination with them.
