International Cultural and Academic Preparation Program: Atlanta
Get a head start at International CAPP in Atlanta
A Cultural and Academic Preparation Program, or CAPP, for new students
New international students have an opportunity to get an early start on settling into their new home away from home in the United States and at SCAD's Atlanta location through International CAPP, a three-week pre-orientation summer program. International CAPP offers instruction in English as a second language, as well as themed coursework providing an introduction to life in the United States, Atlanta and especially SCAD.
At the end of the program, international students are well prepared for the ESL placement test, which is administered during fall orientation. Students also become familiar with SCAD Atlanta and the surrounding community before their classes begin, allowing them to adjust more easily and focus fully on beginning their academic and artistic journey toward a creative career.
The SCAD Atlanta CAPP experience includes trips to several popular Atlanta venues, Orlando, Florida, Savannah, Georgia, and a whitewater rafting adventure on the Ocoee River in Tennessee.
