Accreditation and student statistics

The SCAD interior design Bachelor of Fine Arts degree is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation, 206 Grandville Ave., Suite 350, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.

SCAD's alumni follow-up study is conducted annually by the office of institutional assessment to ascertain the employment and continuing education information of spring quarter graduates.

  • The results of this year's study for SCAD Atlanta interior design represent 88 percent of the Spring 2013 graduating class. According to the study, 100 percent of Spring 2013 SCAD Atlanta interior design graduates were employed, pursuing further education, or both within ten months of graduation. Of those employed, 100 percent were working in creative fields related to their SCAD education.
  • The results of this year's study for SCAD Savannah interior design represent 92 percent of the Spring 2013 graduating class. According to the study, 94 percent of Spring 2013 SCAD Savannah interior design graduates were employed, pursuing further education, or both within ten months of graduation. Of those employed, 91 percent were working in creative fields related to their SCAD education.

The SCAD office of institutional research provides centralized reporting services for the university, including retention and graduation rates. For the 2012-13 academic year, SCAD Savannah’s interior design department graduated 45 students and had a retention rate of 87 percent. SCAD Atlanta’s interior design department graduated 16 students and had a retention rate of 83 percent. During the same time period, the average time to complete a B.F.A. in interior design, at each location, was 3.7 years and the overall six-year graduation rate was 68 percent.
