Andrew Velcoff is a lawyer at Greenberg Traurig LLP focusing on entertainment, intellectual property, licensing and media law. His practice includes a wide range of institutional and individual entertainment and media clients involved in the development, production, acquisition, financing, marketing and distribution of content for motion pictures, television, video, the Internet and other traditional and emerging media. Previously, Velcoff served as general counsel and senior vice president of legal and business affairs at Turner Entertainment Group. He received his juris doctor from the New England School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts, Master of Education and Master of Arts degrees in music education and music composition from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Velcoff also is an advisory board member of the Atlanta Film Festival.
Karen Spencer Welanetz
Karen Spencer Welanetz is CEO and co-owner of Dtox Juice in Atlanta. She has experience in retail real estate development, retail marketing and brand development, and previously served as vice president at General Growth Properties, the second largest real estate investment trust in the U.S. While living in Shanghai with her family for eight years, Welanetz launched a children’s clothing brand, and, as the wholesale business grew, she opened her store named Karen Spencer, operating the business for four years until moving to the U.S. In addition, Welanetz wrote and cohosted a nationally televised weekly segment on International Channel Shanghai television titled “Parenting In Style,” which presented informative interviews, creative ideas and advice for parents with young children. She is involved with the Baobei Foundation, an organization that provides life-saving surgeries to orphans in China, and JUCCCE, a nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating the greening of China and promoting sustainability education for growing cities. Born in Toronto, Welanetz has also lived in Durban and Cape Town, South Africa; Melbourne in Australia; and numerous cities in the U.S. A graduate of Texas Christian University, she resides in Atlanta with her husband and two sons.
