5th Annual Artist's Book Symposium
Join scholars, artists and students for a symposium devoted to the study of artists' books. SCAD students may submit up to two artists' books created within the past year for an opportunity to be included in a juried exhibition. Student entries must be submitted in the library, with a completed entry form, by May 7. Winners will be announced at the symposium at 5 p.m.Featured lectures include:- 2 p.m. - "Throw a Book at It!: Self-publishing as a Fine Art Practice," Marshall Weber, artist and directing curator of Booklyn Artists Alliance- 3:30 p.m. - "Masters: Book Arts: Major Works by Leading Artists," Eileen Wallace, artist, curator, visiting professor of printmaking, University of Georgia- 6 p.m. - "Reading Between the Lines: Robbin Ami Silverberg's Artist Books and Installations," Robbin Ami Silverberg, artist and founding director of Dobbin Mill, a hand-papermaking studio, and Dobbin Books, a collaborative artist book studio.Symposium is free and open to the public; free visitor parking is available.
