Give to SCAD

SCAD is one of the world's leading institutes of art and design, attracting diverse and talented students passionate about creative careers. SCAD engages an unparalleled faculty of inspiring educators and cutting-edge industry professionals, provides the state-of-the-art facilities for learning and living, and produces tomorrow's leaders of the global art and design community.

Outstanding talent thrives here, thanks to the generosity of those who have an appreciation for the artistic wonders produced at SCAD. When you support SCAD, you support our students, faculty, facilities, technology, programs and events. Tuition only covers a small portion of the cost required to achieve the education available at SCAD.

Every contribution makes a difference and will have a positive impact in the lives of SCAD students.

    Opportunities to give
Gifts of all sizes from SCAD alumni, faculty, staff, parents and friends together help support every student's education.

When you give to the Savannah College of Art and Design Annual Fund, you may designate your gift to the area of your choice or simply give an unrestricted gift to benefit the area(s) of greatest need. Your gift will help SCAD to:
    Outright gifts
    • Cash gifts: Cash gifts can be made through credit/debit card transactions, outright cash, or personal checks, cashier's checks or money orders made payable to the Savannah College of Art and Design.
    • Securities, stocks and bonds: A substantial tax advantage may be available to you if you give securities that have appreciated significantly in value, especially when the tax deduction for the gift at fair market value and the probable avoidance of capital gains taxes are taken into account. To make a gift of securities to SCAD, contact the director of institutional advancement. It is important to have complete donor information, including name, address and phone number, as well as the name and type of securities to be gifted, the number of shares, and the date you intend to make the gift.
    • Real estate: If you own property that is fully paid off and has appreciated in value, an outright gift may be the simplest solution. You can potentially deduct the fair market value of your gift, avoid all capital gains taxes and remove that asset from your taxable estate. You can transfer the deed of your personal residence, second home, income property, land or farm to SCAD now and keep the right to use the property for your lifetime and that of your spouse. Contact the office of institutional advancement for more information.
    • Personal property: Many individuals give sculptures, paintings, book collections, animation collections, furniture collections and more to SCAD. The SCAD libraries and galleries would not have their quality collections without gifts of personal property from our donors. For more information, contact the office of institutional advancement.
    Planned gifts
Providing for the future well-being of family, while simultaneously supporting SCAD, can be accomplished by a variety of gifts known as planned gifts. Planned gifts, such as bequests, life insurance policies and retirement plan assets, among others, allow for maximizing the current and future benefit to both family and SCAD. Contact the director of institutional advancement for more information.
    Matching gifts
An easy way to double or even triple your donation to SCAD is to find out if your company has a matching gift program. Such programs typically match all or a percentage of employee contributions to charitable organizations, making the employer a partner in employees' personal philanthropy. Simply obtain a matching gift form from your employer, complete and sign it, and mail it along with your gift to the address below.
    Pledges
SCAD welcomes your gift through a pledge - a formal statement of intention to make a gift to the university. With a pledge, you may complete your gift by making regular payments over time, allowing you to give more generously than you originally may have considered. Each payment on your pledge is eligible for an income-tax charitable deduction.
