Throughout its 32-year history, SCAD has been a leader in endorsing highly diverse, innovative and creative projects in art and design. Because collaboration is valued by SCAD's faculty and students, the university promotes an innovative and collaborative culture in all teaching and learning activities. Collaboration
SCAD's mission is to prepare talented students for professional careers. As a result, SCAD emphasizes student collaboration with professionals and the use of real-world applications during their academic endeavors.

The Collaborative Learning Center works with partners and professors to provide students with such experience through courses, group projects and university-wide programs.
