About CLC

About CLCThe Collaborative Learning Center is SCAD's unique and innovative endeavor that focuses on creating authentic and collaborative learning opportunities for students, faculty and external partners. As the creative hub, the center will facilitate, support and fund tripartite collaborative ventures to further enhance SCAD's learning environment where ideas and projects are inspired and ultimately brought to fruition. By providing students with ample opportunities to participate in real-world collaboration initiatives, the center aspires to fulfill SCAD's mission of preparing talented students for professional careers, emphasizing learning through individual attention in a positively oriented university environment.

For External Partners

Establishing the Collaborative Learning Center embodies one of SCAD's core values––growing while continually improving. Through continuous involvement with the current marketplace, the center provides external partners with an exclusive communication channel to explore potential partnership opportunities and crucial assistance in orchestrating partnership projects.

For Students

SCAD is dedicated to offering an active learning environment that is inspiring and collaborative within and beyond the classroom. The Collaborative Learning Center engages students in real-world projects to find real solutions through real-world, for-credit courses, giving them distinct opportunities to collaborate with top businesses, major organizations and distinguished artists. These collaborative learning opportunities set SCAD students apart from other university graduates and prepare them for successful careers.

For Professors

The extraordinary SCAD faculty of more than 600 professors—89 percent of them full-time—are dedicated to teaching and sharing their expertise and professional connections with SCAD students and alumni. With the support and facilitation of the center, SCAD professors play a key role in creating authentic learning experiences and real-world collaboration opportunities that challenge students beyond their normal course of study.
