Give blood, feel better The nation's blood banks, represented by the American Association of Blood Banks and America's Blood Centers, are asking for immediate blood donation to boost already critically low supplies. Donors are asked to schedule appointments to donate blood now. To do so, a person must be healthy, at least 17 years old, weigh 110 pounds or more and meet other donor requirements. Join the veterans' march The Savannah chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America will for the 10th year sponsor "Operation 106" in the St. Patrick's Day Parade. "Operation 106" is a tribute to the 106 soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines from the Savannah area who lost their lives in the Vietnam War. Celebrate women's history month Donate a book concerning women's history to the visitor center March 20, 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., and receive free family admission to Fort Pulaski for that day. Fort Pulaski is collecting books about women and donating them to local schools and libraries in celebration of women's history month. Go 'Psycho' at the Bean As part of its Psychotronic Film Series, Sentient Bean, 13 E. Harris St., will host a lecture series titled, "African Americans and the Film Industry," March 25-28.
