Did you know that Laura Ingalls Wilder, the author of the beloved semi-autobiographical “Little House” series, was born 137 years ago on Feb. 7, 1867? The second daughter of Charles and Caroline Ingalls, Laura Ingalls Wilder lived the frontier life with her parents, “Ma” and “Pa,” and her three sisters during the 1870s and 1880s. In 1930, with the encouragement of her daughter, journalist Rose Wilder Lane, Laura Ingalls Wilder began writing down her memories of her life on the American frontier. The books, along with the popular TV series “Little House on the Prairie,” have touched the hearts of millions of her readers here in the United States and throughout the world.
