Psyop will give us insight into their creative and design processes by sharing the techniques, methods, sketches and storyboards and pitches that result in their innovative award-winning work.

"The Role of Writing in Design"

Speakers: Dan Pappalardo, Executive Creative Director and Partner; Reid Thompson, Creative Director
Design is more than pretty pictures. It takes some left-brain as well. This session explores ways in which designers use writing in their design process, from conceptualizing to storytelling to creating emotional connection.

"Interactive Motion Graphics"
Speakers: Devin Brook, Senior Producer; Eric Adolfsen, Director of Design
Senior Producer Devin Brook and Director of Design Eric Adolfsen speak about the creative challenges and processes of creating the innovative Adobe CS3 interactive mural installation. The mural uses some fairly sophisticated tracking hardware and flash scripting. Peoples' movements are recorded and translated into an animated mixed-media mural.

Digital Kitchen
"Artistry of Main Titles"
Speaker: Eric Anderson, Creative Lead and Director Editor
Main titles used to be a mere afterthought, but over the past decade, they have evolved into an art form. This session will explore the process of creating a successful main title, accompanied by examples from Digital Kitchen’s portfolio. Citing music and photography as influences, Eric Anderson will also delve into what inspires him and the team at Digital Kitchen in addition to some of the roadblocks they’ve encountered in the past.

4:15-5:45 p.m.
PES
Interviewed by Brett Ashy
PES brings to life ordinary household objects such as peanuts, socks and chairs. Brett Ashy interviews the brilliant stop-motion master and shows his amazing work, along with the first peek at PES' brand new film “Western Spaghetti.”
