CLOSURES UPDATE: SCAD Atlanta and Savannah to reopen Friday, Jan. 31

Updated Jan. 30 at 12:15 p.m.: SCAD Atlanta and Savannah will operate on a normal class and business schedule tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 31. Ivy Hall, the Digital Media Center and the sculpture center will reopen in Atlanta, as well.

SCAD Atlanta dining services will operate in the Hub per the normal schedule and the SCAD Shuttle will begin running at 8:00 a.m.

In Savannah, dining services and the SCAD Bee Line will run according to their regular schedules.

Classes canceled in Atlanta and Savannah are rescheduled for the following dates:

• All canceled Jan. 28 classes are scheduled for Friday, Feb. 7.
• All canceled Jan. 29 classes are scheduled for Friday, Feb. 21.
• All canceled Jan. 30 classes are scheduled for Friday, Feb. 28.

Please note that winter quarter 2014 midterm week is now scheduled to start Monday, Feb. 10. Winter quarter 2014 midterm grades will be due Monday, Feb. 17.

********Posted Jan. 29: Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta and Savannah will remain closed on Thursday, Jan. 30 due to persisting weather conditions.

All SCAD Atlanta students on a meal plan will receive boxed meals, to be delivered to student housing on Thursday. Students on a meal plan in Savannah may continue to access dining services located in student housing. Transportation services at SCAD Atlanta and Savannah will not operate.

SCAD encourages you to stay off the roadways and use appropriate precautions.

All classes canceled on Jan. 28, 29 and 30 will be rescheduled. Look for an email announcement outlining make-up days and revised due dates for midterm grades.

Normal university operations will resume as scheduled Friday, Jan. 31.

********Posted Jan. 27: The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Metro Atlanta, with snow, freezing rain and ice expected to effect the area until Wednesday, January 29. In Savannah, an Ice Storm Warning has been issued for the early morning hours of Wednesday, January 29. 

For your safety, SCAD Atlanta will close to students, faculty and staff beginning Tuesday, January 28 and remain closed on Wednesday, January 29. SCAD Savannah will close to students, faculty and staff starting at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28 and will remain closed on Wednesday, January 29. Classes and extracurricular activities at both locations will resume for students, faculty and staff at 8 a.m. on Thursday, January 30.

SCAD Atlanta transportation will cease operating Monday, January 27 and resume operations on Thursday, January 30. All students on the meal plan will receive boxed meals, to be delivered to student housing Tuesday and Wednesday. Students living off-campus should prepare accordingly while conditions permit.

SCAD Savannah transportation will cease operating at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28 and resume operations on Thursday, January 30 at the regularly scheduled time. All students on the meal plan in Savannah may access dining services located in student housing Tuesday evening and Wednesday. Students living off-campus should prepare in advance accordingly.

All classes cancelled during the closure will be rescheduled on a later date.
