
In each of Savannah College of Art and Design locations as well as online through SCAD-eLearning, all SCAD students are offered many opportunities to enrich their learning experience through both formal and informal student life programming. Residence halls, dining rooms, fitness centers, and online chat rooms become gathering places for organized and casual interactions. Numerous student organizations suit interests from Japanese anime to whitewater rafting.
Check the master calendar for SCAD-Atlanta events. Staff and faculty serve as advisers and mentors for student activities outside the classroom, encouraging leadership development and helping to build a sense of community. Staff specializing in learning disabilities, personal counseling and other student concerns also are available to help ensure student success. Intercollegiate athletics and intramural programs round out the university experience and foster healthy lifestyle choices.
Student services staff and programs assist students in making a successful adjustment to college. Staff members are available to guide students in developing independence and self-direction toward their professional and personal goals and are available to help students resolve personal and academic problems.

The intramural program at SCAD-Atlanta is an integral part of college life. Intramurals offer opportunities to achieve physical fitness as well as to meet other students and improve athletic skills. SCAD students, faculty, staff and alumni are encouraged to participate in the programs and activities offered by joining a team, starting a team or becoming a free agent to be placed on a team. There are also paid officiating opportunities available for basketball.
Information about intramural activities is posted on classroom and residence hall bulletin boards and in the fitness center. Sign-up sheets also are available in the fitness center. Books and supplies may be purchased in the bookstore on the first floor of SCAD-Atlanta or by phone or online through
Ex Libris bookstore in Savannah. Local bookstores and art supply stores also offer necessary materials.
Full-time information management and technology staff support computer and network needs. More than 200 computers, both PCs and Macs, are available for student and classroom use. Industry standard, state-of-the-art hardware and software are available as learning tools for students in each program.
College residence halls give students opportunities to experience personal growth and form lasting friendships. SCAD-Atlanta's
Spring House and ACA Residence Hall offer convenient locations and comfortable, lively environments. Students who reside in Spring House are required to participate in the meal plan.
SCAD-Atlanta offers an on-site
dining facility providing breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks on a pay-per-meal basis. The store accepts the SCAD Card and cash. Students who do not live in college housing are not required to purchase a meal plan.
With SCAD-Atlanta nestled in the center of the city’s thriving business and cultural community, students and alumni have an abundance of career opportunities from which to choose. SCAD-Atlanta enhanced its mission to "prepare students for careers in the arts" by establishing a comprehensive
career services center. Students and alumni are encouraged to take advantage of the school’s career advisement, job notification and placement, career networking and internship opportunities, as well as workshops and a career resource library.

Students, faculty and staff are required to present identification in order to gain admittance to SCAD-Atlanta facilities.
Security guards are on duty at all times. Guests are admitted with photo identification and must sign in at the front entrance. An on-demand shuttle service is available for students at night and during inclement weather.
Complimentary parking is available in the SCAD-Atlanta parking deck to students, staff and faculty. Visitor parking is available at the north and south areas adjacent to the SCAD-Atlanta building. Those who park or use a vehicle on SCAD property must adhere to safe driving practices. For security reasons, SCAD encourages students, staff, faculty and visitors not to leave items of value visible in their cars. All students, staff and faculty who park or use a vehicle on SCAD property must register their vehicles. Student parking permits are free and are validated for the academic year (fall through spring). To obtain a permit, students, faculty and staff must present a valid SCAD ID. To park in designated SCAD lots, students must obtain a SCAD parking permit. Permits are available online at registration and during the drop/add period or through the Savannah office of transportation and parking services throughout the year.

Permits must be current and are issued for a period of one academic year (not including summer). A SCAD bus system provides transportation to and from class free of charge. The buses continue to run after class hours to provide late-night transportation. A late-night shuttle service is offered 9 p.m.–8 a.m. daily during academic quarters and spring break. These services are free of charge and operate between open college facilities and residences within designated parameters.
The bus system provides transportation for other activities including regulary scheduled shopping trips. Transportation for medical appointments and non-emergency medical concerns is provided week days from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Bicycles and motorcycles are to be parked in the parking deck only. Any bicycle or motorcycle parked in unauthorized areas adjacent to the SCAD-Atlanta facility will be removed and/or towed by security. Bicycles must be secured to the bicycle racks located near the second floor parking deck entrance to the security station. Motorcycles must park in vehicle parking spaces within the deck. American Coach Lines provides transportation services to students in Atlanta. The shuttle bus route travels between the SCAD-Atlanta building at 1600 Peachtree Street, Spring House, the ACA Gallery of SCAD, and the ACA Residence Hall and Sculpture Studio of SCAD.
