"Perishable Constructions" Exhibition by Karen-Sam Norgard
Trois Gallery, 1600 Peachtree St., Atlanta, Ga.

The exhibitions department presents "Perishable Constructions," a new body of work by foundation studies professor Karen-Sam Norgard. Norgard creates ephemeral dress forms from natural materials found in White's Cove, Nova Scotia, then memorializes the constructions in digital photographs. Part of the ongoing series "Women Are Everywhere," which Norgard started in 2002, the work in this exhibition was funded in part by a SCAD Presidential Fellowship for Faculty Development. A reception is scheduled July 15 as part of the SCAD-Atlanta gallery hop. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.

“Constructing History: A Requiem to Mark the Moment” Exhibition by Carrie Mae Weems

This exhibition is produced by SCAD as part of the National Black Arts Festival 20th anniversary. For more information, send e-mail. A reception is scheduled July 15.

Art Educators' Forum at SCAD-Atlanta

Through one week in residence at SCAD, educators recharge their creativity and exchange ideas. AEF includes five workshops, a juried exhibition of participants' work, local museum/gallery tours and field trips, and an art educators' lesson-plan swap.
