SCAD students explore the history, theory and criticism of art and design with the largest full-time art history faculty devoted to the broadest range of topics.
A focused study of British-American art is supported by the Earle W. Newton Center for British-American studies in the SCAD Museum of Art.
SCAD has the largest group of scholars and practitioners teaching the history of photography.
The SCAD Museum of Art is primarily a teaching museum, broadening the ways in which students understand and experience art, both past and present.

Lachner interns at Museum of Contemporary Art

Maria Malavasi Lachner (B.F.A., art history, 2011) has been interning at the Museum of Contemporary Art and Design in San José, Costa Rica, and recently accepted a full-time position at TEOR/éTica, a private museum and gallery also located in San José.
Atlanta Botanical Garden hires Burton

Mackenzee Burton (B.F.A., art history, 2009) accepted a position as member services coordinator with the Atlanta Botanical Garden in Atlanta, Georgia.
